Pons has announced a major V2 upgrade that will introduce new features for token launches, trading, and liquidity management on Robinhood Chain. The update is expected to go live next week, pending the completion of ongoing security audits.
One of the biggest changes is the move to an ETH-based bonding curve, which will replace the platform’s previous launch model. Pons says the new system is designed to improve trading efficiency and reduce the failed transactions that some users experienced under the earlier version.
The upgrade will also allow developers to create tokens using custom trading pairs instead of being limited to ETH. Examples include assets such as USDG, NVDA, AAPL, and HOOD, opening the door for trading pairs linked to tokenized real-world assets and other supported tokens.
Another major addition is the integration of Uniswap V4. Under the new system, creators will receive their earnings in ETH by default rather than in the tokens they launch. This is intended to provide more stable and practical payouts while reducing the need to sell newly issued tokens for profits.
Pons is also changing how liquidity is handled. Tokens will remain on the bonding curve until they reach a specific threshold of 4.2 ETH. Once that level is achieved, liquidity will automatically move into a permanently locked Uniswap V4 pool, helping create a more stable trading environment and reducing the risk of liquidity being removed later.
The platform will also introduce new governance and creator tools. These include a community takeover (CTO) feature with built-in security delays, as well as optional transaction taxes that projects can use for rewards and other incentive programs.
The announcement comes at a time when competition among launchpads on Robinhood Chain is increasing. Following the exit of Noxa, which was previously one of the network’s largest token launch platforms, several projects have been competing to attract users and token creators.
While memecoin trading still accounts for much of Robinhood Chain’s activity, the addition of tokenized real-world asset trading pairs shows that Pons is also targeting the growing market for blockchain-based financial products.
According to the team, the V2 upgrade was built using feedback from users and aims to create a smoother experience for both traders and developers as the Robinhood Chain ecosystem continues to grow.
