Schneider Electric has partnered with Iraqi technology company T964 to develop the power and cooling systems for Iraq’s first commercial Tier III data center, a major milestone in the country’s growing digital transformation efforts.
The new carrier-neutral facility will provide secure colocation services for businesses, banks, telecommunications companies, and cloud service providers, helping meet the increasing demand for modern digital infrastructure across Iraq.
The project’s first phase will include 340 server racks and offer capacity of up to 12 megawatts. The facility is being built to meet international Tier III standards, ensuring high levels of reliability, availability, and operational uptime.
To support continuous operations, the data center will have access to 84 megawatts of on-site power generation along with multiple internet connectivity routes, providing strong resilience and network stability.
Construction is currently underway, with the facility expected to begin operations by the end of 2026.
According to Schneider Electric, the project will play an important role in strengthening Iraq’s digital economy by supporting cloud computing services, business continuity solutions, and future artificial intelligence applications.
T964 said the partnership brings world-class technology and expertise to one of the largest digital infrastructure investments ever undertaken in Iraq, helping lay the foundation for the country’s next phase of digital growth.
Once completed, the data center is expected to improve local data hosting capabilities, reduce reliance on foreign infrastructure, and support the growing technology needs of businesses and institutions across Iraq.
