Ahmed Al-Sudani, a member of the State of Law Coalition, urged the government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to take action today, Thursday, to end the carelessness and persistent targeting of the Popular Mobilization Forces.
“The repeated violations against the Popular Mobilization Forces are unacceptable because they target an important national force,” Al-Sudani said in a statement to, noting that “America always creates crises to continue its targeting without any justification.”
He went on to say that “the security agreement does not permit Washington to target official forces affiliated with the government,” noting that “the issue of repeated targeting requires a comprehensive national stance in order to stop America at its borders and stop its guardianship over Iraq.”
“The Iraqi government must take immediate measures to hold America accountable and prevent it from happening again,” he stated. The Popular Mobilization Forces must also be stopped from being recklessly and repeatedly targeted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
The fact that the Iraqi Foreign Ministry has ignored numerous American violations of Iraqi sovereignty, most recently the targeting of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Nasr, is noteworthy.
