The Democratic Party confirms its intention to proceed with the State of Law coalition to challenge the vote on al Zidi's cabinet.

Wafa Muhammad Karim, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, said the party is preparing to coordinate with the State of Law Coalition to challenge the recent cabinet vote after several of their proposed ministerial candidates were rejected.

Karim explained that the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the State of Law Coalition, and the Azm Alliance are discussing the formation of a stronger political alliance, adding that the project could move forward after Eid.

According to Karim, the future of this alliance depends largely on resolving disputes over the remaining ministerial positions in Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s government. He said talks are still ongoing and that the involved parties are waiting to see whether their candidates will seriously be considered and approved.

He also revealed that there are plans to file an appeal before the Federal Court regarding the cabinet vote. After the court issues its decision, the State of Law Coalition and the Kurdistan Democratic Party may submit alternative candidates for the disputed ministries.

Karim added that the parties will decide their next political steps based on the response to the new nominations and any objections raised against them.
