The Iraqi dinar strengthened again on Monday as the U.S. dollar continued to lose value in both Baghdad and Erbil markets.
In Baghdad, the dollar’s exchange rate dropped in the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges to 150,800 dinars per $100. Just a day earlier, on Sunday, it had been trading at 152,600 dinars per $100, showing a noticeable decline in a short period.
Local currency exchange shops across the capital also reported lower rates. The selling price reached 151,250 dinars per $100, while the buying price stood at 150,250 dinars.
A similar trend was seen in Erbil, where the dollar also weakened. Exchange shops there recorded a selling price of 151,550 dinars per $100 and a buying price of 151,300 dinars.
The continued decline in the dollar’s value reflects growing strength in the dinar and comes as markets closely monitor recent banking and financial reforms aimed at improving currency stability across Iraq.
