XRP Ledger adds Flare to validator list as Anodos steps down

The XRP Ledger Foundation has added Flare to its recommended validator list and removed Anodos Finance at the company’s request. Following these changes, the foundation’s published list and Ripple’s list contain the same 35 validator keys.

The foundation welcomed Flare, citing its participation in XRP Ledger governance and its contributions to the ecosystem. It also thanked Anodos Finance for its work and cooperation after the company decided to shut down its XRP Ledger validator by the end of October.

A review of the published lists found that all 35 validator keys matched, with no unique keys in either list. Both lists also included a validator domain associated with Flare. The comparison reflects the published lists at the time of review and does not confirm which configuration every individual server operator uses.

The XRP Ledger’s default server configuration uses recommended lists from both the foundation and Ripple. When a validator appears on both lists, it is counted only once. Operators can also choose their own trusted validators, but sufficient overlap between their lists is important for the network to reach agreement on validated transactions.

Validators help the network agree on transaction order and prevent double spending. According to the XRP Ledger’s documentation, operators do not receive XRP rewards for running validators. Businesses may operate them to support network reliability and development.

Flare’s work with XRP-based decentralized finance began well before its addition to the recommended list. In September 2025, Flare launched FXRP on its mainnet through version 1.2 of its FAssets protocol. FXRP is designed to represent XRP on a one-to-one basis, using an overcollateralized system of independent agents and Flare’s data protocols.

Once minted, FXRP can be used in lending markets, decentralized exchanges and other applications on the Flare network.

In July, Flare introduced a feature through Smart Accounts v1.3 that allows users to mint FXRP and deposit it into supported vaults with a single signature. The update simplified the process by combining two previously separate XRP Ledger signatures, reducing the need for users to manage a separate EVM wallet or gas token.

Flare has also expanded FXRP’s use as collateral for borrowing stablecoins. On August 3, the company announced that Sentora had accepted FXRP as collateral in its RLUSD Main vault on Morpho.

The process allows users to mint FXRP, bridge it to Ethereum, supply it to the relevant Morpho lending market and borrow Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin within the market’s loan-to-value limits. Borrowing costs depend on market utilization, while positions that fall below required collateral levels can face liquidation.

Ripple launched RLUSD in December 2024. The stablecoin is backed by US dollar deposits, US government bonds and cash equivalents, with monthly third-party reserve attestations, according to the company.

Flare has also expanded its staking-related services. In an October 6 update, it said Firelight had launched coverage for Sentora’s USD Protected Vault and Protected RWA Vaults. FXRP stakers provide capital to support the coverage, while eligible claims are reviewed by a five-firm risk consortium. Staked capital and accumulated rewards can be subject to slashing, and withdrawals must account for the protocol’s coverage periods.

The latest validator-list changes mark Flare’s inclusion among the XRP Ledger Foundation’s recommended validators, while its existing FXRP products continue to expand the ways XRP-linked assets can be used across decentralized finance.
