Solana Mobile is getting ready to launch its new SKR token in January, kicking off a fresh chapter for its open mobile ecosystem.

Here’s the big picture:

  • The SKR token goes live in January and is built around staking, rewards, and community security.
  • The Seeker phone is gaining more users, especially among builders and early adopters.
  • A new “Guardians” network will start in 2026 to help decentralize device checks and app reviews.

On Nov. 3, Solana Mobile announced the SKR token on X, explaining that it will help users support developers, secure their devices, and have a real voice in how the platform grows.

What SKR is meant to do

At launch, SKR will work as the coordination layer for the Seeker phone ecosystem. Users can stake their SKR with Guardians. These Guardians are responsible for checking devices, reviewing new apps, and making sure the community rules stay fair and consistent.

The token has a fixed supply of 10 billion SKR. Here’s how it will be distributed:

  • 30% for airdrops
  • 25% for growth and partnerships
  • 10% for liquidity and launch
  • 10% for the community treasury
  • 15% for Solana Mobile
  • 10% for Solana Labs

It also has a simple inflation schedule. It starts at 10% in the first year, then decreases by 25% each year until it settles at a steady 2%. This setup is meant to reward early users who stake and help secure the system.

Anyone who owns a Seeker phone can activate a Genesis Token — a soulbound NFT stored in the Seed Vault wallet — to join early airdrops and other rewards.

Seeker’s growth and the rise of the Guardians network

Solana Mobile has been gaining momentum since the Seeker phone started shipping on Aug. 4. The device hit more than 150,000 pre-orders around the world. It includes the newest version of the dApp Store, built-in key storage, and decentralized hardware verification through TEEPIN.

More apps are launching every week, boosted by new developers from the recent Solana Mobile Hackathon. And there’s more coming: in 2026, the Guardians network will go live. Guardians will work as independent verifiers who check whether a phone is authentic, review new app submissions, and help guide platform rules.

Solana Mobile will serve as the first Guardian, with others — including Anza, Helius, DoubleZero, Triton, and Jito — joining at launch. The goal is to open the whole mobile system to more contributors instead of relying on a single company.

SKR will power all of this through staking. Guardians earn rewards for the work they do, and users get a direct role in how the ecosystem grows and evolves.

With January approaching, Solana Mobile sees SKR as a key step toward building an open mobile platform where the value stays in the hands of the community that uses and builds it.
