A fire that broke out in one of the main units at the Nasiriyah power station has been brought under control, with no injuries reported, according to a Civil Defense source on Wednesday.
The source said the fire erupted late Tuesday night, prompting the deployment of three Civil Defense teams that quickly contained and extinguished the blaze.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were recorded. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A committee from the Ministry of Electricity is currently assessing the extent of the damage and evaluating any potential impact on the national power grid. The results of the assessment are expected to become clear in the coming hours.
