Basra MP Suzan Al-Saad has criticized the Ministry of Finance over delays in completing contracts for 38,000 teaching positions within the Basra Education Directorate, accusing the ministry of negligence and a lack of professionalism.
Al-Saad said the ministry attributed the delay to the damage of a CD containing the applicants’ data, questioning why the Basra Education Directorate was not informed immediately so alternative solutions could be implemented without disrupting the process.
She stressed that the delay has negatively affected thousands of families awaiting the completion of the contracts and their associated entitlements. Al-Saad called on the Ministry of Finance to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, accelerate the completion of contract procedures, and ensure that applicants do not bear the consequences of administrative errors beyond their control.
