Today, Saturday, Maysan Governorate MP Ali Saadoun revealed a contentious case that has remained unresolved for 15 years in the city of Amara.

Saadoun told , “After the authorizing round that occurred in 2009, the improvement of enormous oil fields in Maysan, like Barzakan and Halfaya, started to grow the nation’s oil creation capacities.”

“The residents refused because they were their source of livelihood,” he continued, “Expanding the scope of fields within the licensing round required moving to agricultural lands and annexing them.” He made sense of, “It was concurred at the time that two individuals from each agreement would be named as managers of the oil offices, with a promise to make them extremely durable inside a brief period.”

“This procedure was unbearable,” he explained, “and now more than a thousand families are demonstrating to resolve the situation of their sons whose rights to be appointed to the staff of Maysan Oil Company have not been proven, noting that their salaries are very limited and they have not been treated fairly.” He added, “This procedure was unbearable.”

Bazargan and Halfaya, Maysan’s most well-known fields, rank second to Basra in terms of crude oil production capacity.
