The Iraqi dinar strengthened slightly against the U.S. dollar on Sunday as exchange rates declined in both Baghdad and Erbil compared with the previous day.

In Baghdad, the dollar was trading at 154,100 Iraqi dinars per $100 at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges. This was a small decrease from Saturday’s rate of 154,300 dinars per $100.

At local currency exchange shops in the capital, the selling rate reached 154,500 dinars per $100, while the buying rate stood at 153,500 dinars per $100.

In Erbil, the dollar also recorded a slight decline. Exchange shops were selling $100 for 153,900 dinars, while the buying rate was 153,850 dinars.

The modest drop in the dollar’s value indicates a slight improvement in the dinar’s position in local currency markets. Exchange rate movements in Iraq are closely watched by traders, businesses, and consumers because of their impact on import costs, prices, and overall market activity.

Despite daily fluctuations, the dollar continues to trade within a relatively narrow range, reflecting ongoing efforts by financial authorities to maintain stability in the foreign exchange market.
