The US dollar opened trading higher in Iraq on Saturday, reaching levels close to 151,000 Iraqi dinars per $100 in both Baghdad and Erbil.
According to a market survey, the dollar was trading at 150,850 dinars per $100 in Baghdad’s Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges. This represents an increase from Thursday’s rate of 150,650 dinars per $100.
In local exchange shops across Baghdad, the dollar was being sold at 151,250 dinars per $100, while the buying rate stood at 150,250 dinars.
Meanwhile, in Erbil, the selling price reached 150,800 dinars per $100, while the buying price was recorded at 150,700 dinars.
The latest figures show a modest rise in the dollar’s value against the Iraqi dinar compared with the previous trading session, reflecting continued fluctuations in the local currency market.
