The US dollar strengthened against the Iraqi dinar on Monday morning, recording gains in both Baghdad and Erbil currency markets.

According to market data, the dollar traded at 150,050 Iraqi dinars per $100 in Baghdad’s Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges, up from 149,650 dinars per $100 recorded on Sunday.

The rise was also reflected in local exchange shops across Baghdad. The selling rate reached 150,500 dinars per $100, while the buying rate stood at 149,500 dinars per $100.

In the Kurdistan Region, the dollar also moved higher in Erbil’s currency market. Exchange shops reported a selling rate of 150,200 dinars per $100 and a buying rate of 150,100 dinars per $100.

The latest increase highlights continued fluctuations in Iraq’s currency market, where exchange rates are influenced by demand for US dollars, liquidity conditions, and broader economic developments. Market participants will be watching closely to see whether the upward trend continues in the coming days, particularly amid growing discussions about government finances and cash liquidity.
