Kraken has introduced a new AI-powered investing assistant designed to help users build and manage investment portfolios through personalized recommendations, while ensuring that all trading decisions remain under the user’s control.

The new mobile experience moves away from the traditional trading-focused approach and instead starts by asking users about their financial goals. Rather than immediately presenting charts and trading tools, the platform helps users create investment plans based on objectives such as buying a home, building an emergency fund, or saving for retirement.

According to Kraken, the AI assistant analyzes a user’s financial profile, risk tolerance, funding preferences, and current market conditions to create customized portfolio recommendations. Users can review, modify, or reject these suggestions before making any investment decisions.

A key feature of the platform is that the AI does not execute trades on its own. Every recommended transaction requires user approval, making the tool a decision-support system rather than a fully autonomous trading agent.

Kraken said its “financial intelligence” technology continuously monitors market activity, identifies potential opportunities, and provides tailored insights based on each user’s portfolio and financial goals. The system also delivers ongoing portfolio updates and investment suggestions as market conditions change.

Speaking about the launch, Kraken Chief Data Officer Kamo Asatryan said the goal is to give everyday investors access to market intelligence similar to what professional and highly active traders use. By combining AI analysis with simple, natural-language interactions, the company hopes to make investing more accessible to a broader audience.

The launch reflects a growing trend across the cryptocurrency industry, where exchanges are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence into their platforms.

Earlier this year, several major crypto companies introduced AI-focused products. OKX launched a beta platform that allows AI agents to perform on-chain tasks and interact with blockchain applications. Coinbase also rolled out tools that enable AI agents to make payments and trade digital assets through its infrastructure.

Industry data suggests that AI-driven financial activity is growing rapidly. Recent blockchain analytics reports indicate that transactions initiated by AI-powered systems have surpassed hundreds of millions of interactions on some blockchain networks, highlighting increasing interest in automated financial tools.

Despite these advancements, most companies continue to keep users in charge of final decisions.

Similar to Kraken’s approach, fintech company Revolut recently expanded its crypto platform to support external AI assistants that can analyze markets, test trading strategies, and generate trade recommendations. However, users must still review and approve every transaction before it is executed.

This focus on human oversight reflects the industry’s cautious approach to AI-powered investing. Rather than giving artificial intelligence complete control over customer funds, companies are positioning AI as a research, planning, and portfolio management assistant that helps investors make more informed decisions.

With the launch of its new assistant, Kraken joins a growing list of financial and crypto platforms using AI to simplify investing while keeping the final decision-making power firmly in the hands of users.
