Mosul Dam reservoir at its best level in five years

Mosul Dam reservoir at its best level in five years

Informed sources said on Tuesday that water releases from Mosul Dam into the Tigris River basin have remained steady for the third consecutive day at 600 cubic meters per second. They denied reports that the releases had increased to 800 cubic meters per second.

The sources told dinaropinions.com that decisions to increase or decrease water releases depend on several factors, especially the amount of water flowing in from Turkey and the level of water stored in the dam’s reservoir.

They added that current releases remain higher than they were during the same period last year. The dam’s reservoir has also reached its best level in five years.

The sources emphasized that water releases could still increase or decrease depending on changes in these conditions.
