The State of Law Coalition confirmed on Wednesday that it still fully supports all of its candidates nominated for ministerial positions in the new government.
Former MP and coalition leader Jassim Mohammed Jaafar said that the cabinet vote was surrounded by doubts over how votes were counted for the coalition’s candidates. He explained that some candidates from other political blocs are also considering filing a complaint with the Federal Court.
Jaafar said the parliamentary session saw confusion and questions about the voting process, especially the way votes from MPs inside the hall were counted.
He added that the State of Law Coalition is still standing by its nominees who failed to get enough votes for approval in Parliament. He also stressed that the coalition is continuing to follow all legal and political steps related to the issue.
