Oil prices moved higher by the end of trading after new US data showed a drop in jobs, while concerns also grew over the future of talks between the United States and Iran.

Brent crude rose by $1.06, or 1.29%, to close at $83.55 per barrel. Meanwhile, US crude gained 89 cents, or 1.15%, and settled at $78.18 per barrel.

Analysts said the market is still reacting to uncertainty surrounding negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Investors remain concerned that tensions between the two sides could continue, raising fears about potential disruptions to oil supplies.

Because of those supply concerns, oil prices received additional support and ended the session higher. The combination of weaker US economic data and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty continues to keep energy markets on edge.
