Water releases from the Mosul Dam into the Tigris River remained steady at 800 cubic meters per second for the second straight day, according to informed sources on Saturday.
The sources said there has been no change in the release rate, which has stayed at the same level over the past two days. As a result, water levels along the Tigris River have risen noticeably over the last 48 hours.
The increase was seen along the river’s path from Mosul Dam through Salah al-Din Province and down to the Samarra Dam. However, sources confirmed that the higher water levels have not caused flooding in any areas.
They explained that the additional water flow is part of efforts to meet the needs of central and southern provinces, particularly as water demand continues to rise during the peak summer season.
With temperatures remaining high and consumption increasing, authorities are working to ensure enough water reaches areas that depend heavily on river supplies for daily use and agriculture.
