Gold prices slipped on Monday after reaching their highest level in seven weeks during the previous session.
Spot gold fell by 0.5% to around $4,322.28 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures dropped 0.4% to $4,381.60 per ounce.
Other precious metals also moved lower. Silver prices declined 0.2% to $63.45 per ounce, platinum fell 0.1% to $1,742.50, and palladium dropped 1.1% to $1,362.97 per ounce.
Investors are now waiting for key U.S. inflation reports that could influence future market moves. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, followed by the Producer Price Index (PPI) on Thursday.
Markets are closely watching the data for signs about inflation trends and possible changes in U.S. interest rate expectations.
