The local government of Anbar announced on Friday the release of a new batch of payments for farmers who marketed their wheat crop during the 2025 agricultural season, with a total value of 52.552 billion Iraqi dinars.
Anbar government spokesman Muayyad al-Dulaimi said the Ministry of Finance has released the funds and preparations are underway to distribute them to eligible farmers across the province.
He explained that Anbar Governor Omar al-Dabbous has instructed the relevant authorities to speed up the payment process and ensure that farmers receive their dues as quickly as possible through the approved legal procedures.
Al-Dulaimi also stated that payments related to the 2026 agricultural season are expected to be released in the coming period following discussions between Governor Omar al-Dabbous and the Minister of Trade.
He confirmed that the Ministry of Finance plans to allocate additional installments in the future, which will be released in stages. Information about upcoming payments will be announced through official media outlets and social media platforms.
The latest payment batch is part of ongoing efforts to support farmers and ensure they receive compensation for their wheat deliveries, an important crop for Iraq’s agricultural sector and food security.
