Gold prices moved higher on Wednesday, with gold futures reaching $4,462.32 per ounce. That was an increase of $21.22, or 0.48%, as investors continued turning to gold amid uncertainty in global markets.
The precious metal has been on a strong run recently. Over the past week, gold gained 3.65%, while its monthly increase reached around 8.48%. On a yearly basis, gold prices are up an impressive 31.29%.
Even with these gains, gold is still trading below its 52-week high of $5,626.80 per ounce. During the same period, the lowest price recorded was $3,353.40 per ounce.
The latest rise highlights continued investor interest in gold as a safe-haven asset during uncertain economic conditions.
