A source at the Mosul Dam says water flow has been reduced, and people could start noticing changes soon.

The amount of water being released has dropped from 2,000 to 1,750 cubic meters per second. The reason is simple: less water is coming into the dam, so officials are trying to keep things balanced and protect the reservoir.

The source said this reduction may continue depending on how much water keeps flowing into the dam and the current water levels.

Because of this, the level of the Tigris River is expected to fall over the next 24 hours, especially in Mosul and nearby areas.

The released water is still being directed toward the Samarra Dam, and from there it goes to the Tharthar Depression, which serves as an important backup water reserve for the country.
