The U.S. dollar recorded a noticeable increase against the Iraqi dinar on Wednesday morning as trading opened in Baghdad and Erbil.

In Baghdad, the dollar rose in the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges, reaching 150,250 dinars per $100, compared with 149,600 dinars per $100 on Tuesday.

Currency exchange shops and local markets in the capital also saw higher rates. The selling price climbed to 150,750 dinars per $100, while the buying price reached 149,750 dinars per $100.

A similar trend was seen in Erbil, where exchange markets reported an increase in the dollar’s value. The selling price rose to 150,750 dinars per $100, while the buying price stood at 150,650 dinars per $100.

The rise comes after recent fluctuations in the foreign exchange market, with traders closely watching supply and demand conditions, banking sector developments, and broader economic factors that continue to influence the dinar-dollar exchange rate across Iraq.
