Iraq’s Ministry of Finance has denied reports claiming that 150,000 three-year budget contracts have been cancelled.
In a statement, the ministry said the news is false and does not reflect reality. job
It explained that the confusion comes from a specific issue in Kirkuk, not a nationwide decision. According to the ministry, Kirkuk authorities had not yet submitted required data and schedules related to certain contracts.
The Budget Department has already contacted the governorate, asking for details on about 7,300 contracts. This includes checking the legal basis for those hires and reviewing official documents related to their appointments.
The ministry said these steps are part of making sure everything follows the law and proper procedures.
It also confirmed that once the required information is received, the process will move forward without delay.
In simple terms, no mass cancellation has happened. The issue is limited and linked to missing paperwork, not a broader policy change.
The ministry urged people to ignore rumors and rely only on official sources for accurate information.
