The US dollar rose against the Iraqi dinar on Thursday morning in both Baghdad and Erbil, with the exchange rate approaching 159,000 dinars per $100.
In Baghdad, trading at the Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya central exchanges reached 158,850 dinars for every $100, compared to 157,250 dinars at the opening of trading on Wednesday, showing a noticeable increase in the dollar’s value.
At local exchange shops in Baghdad, the selling price of $100 was 159,250 dinars, while the buying price stood at 158,250 dinars.
In Erbil, exchange shops were selling $100 for 158,500 dinars and buying it for 158,400 dinars.
The latest figures show the dollar continuing to strengthen against the dinar in Iraq’s currency markets, with rates remaining close to the 159,000-dinar level per $100.
