The Parliamentary Finance Committee has reaffirmed that responsibility for managing and disbursing employee salaries rests with the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Finance, while assuring the public that the funds needed for salary payments are fully available.
Committee member Jamal Kojar stated that the relevant government institutions, particularly the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Finance, have confirmed their commitment to ensuring salaries are paid on time and without disruption.
Kojar noted that Iraq’s financial position has shown signs of improvement in recent months, supported by stronger oil revenues compared with earlier periods. He said the increase in revenue has contributed to greater confidence in the government’s ability to meet its financial obligations.
He also pointed to ongoing government efforts aimed at expanding oil production, describing them as an important step toward strengthening public finances and supporting long-term fiscal stability.
According to Kojar, these developments provide reassurance that salary payments remain secure, despite concerns surrounding public spending and broader economic challenges facing the country.
