Iraq’s Ministry of Trade has launched a new electronic platform to make it easier and faster to register and establish businesses in the country.
The platform, run through the Companies Registration Directorate, is designed to automate the registration process, cut bureaucracy, and speed up transactions that once took weeks.
Officials said more than 103,000 documents and 18 million records have already been digitally archived as part of the effort.
The new online system also allows citizens and business owners to track their applications and transactions electronically.
Trade Minister Dr. Atheer Daoud Al-Ghrairi said the digital shift is not just an upgrade, but an important step in economic reform and improving government services.
Officials described the platform as a foundation for broader modernization efforts still to come.
